Mount Vernon's Annual Fund

At Mount Vernon, we welcome more than one million visitors each year to tour George Washington's estate and learn more about him at our Ford Orientation Center and Donald W. Reynolds Museum and Education Center.

We also offer numerous educational outreach programs both on-site and across the country as we strive to return Washington to his place of prominence in the nation's consciousness as he is increasingly absent from the classroom.

By donating to the Annual Fund, you will help us preserve both Washington's estate and his legacy of character and leadership which can be a timeless inspiration to current and future generations.

Gifts to the Annual Fund are applied to the area of greatest need at the estate or can be designated to sponsor a specific project or area of interest.  Donate to the Annual Fund today.

Your donations to Mount Vernon's Annual Fund are used in so many different ways like our distance learning broadcasts, Portrait of Leadership Project, archaeology program, restoration of the Mansion, heritage breed animals, and our changing exhibits.  Our featured Annual Fund project is the restoration of the large dining room of the Mansion.

Donors of $25,000 or more to the Annual Fund are recognized each year on a plaque in the Ford Orientation Center as a member of our 1732 Society.  If you are interested in joining this prestigious group, please contact Susan Magill, Vice President for Advancement, at 703-799-8649 or
